For us, Kalemana is not just a festival: it's the time of year when our community comes together, recognizes each other, and grows as one. Between workshops, shows, and nature, Marina di Ravenna becomes home to those who, like us, love to move, share, and push their limits.
For Invertika, it's a special occasion: we bring our energy, our products, and most importantly, the team spirit that accompanies us on every adventure.
And behind the scenes? Here's a collection of anecdotes that only those who experience Kalemana with us can understand.
Ad Blue Mission
11:30 PM. Fabrizia 1, Fabrizia 2, Arianna, and Mariagrazia are still traveling from Naples to Ravenna. They have 30 km of range left. Then the cursed message: Ad Blue empty.
They stop at a suburban Sarni... closed. No gas station, no help. The solution? Walk through the highway underpass, in the middle of the night, in the middle of nowhere.
Three crazy women with phone flashlights, running with the paranoia that someone might "kidnap" them, just to reach the rest stop on the other side. Pure adrenaline. Hysterical laughter. Fortunately, I would add, because they arrived in Ravenna at 3:30 in the morning, exhausted but wide awake. Poor things!
Human Traffic Light
Every year, during the beach photoshoot, we find ourselves acting as traffic lights for passersby while the athletes fly and the swimsuits sparkle. Giada, in her role as a traffic warden, stops a lady: "Madam, one moment please." She stops, turns around, and indignantly exclaims: "But you can't call people OLD!"
Giada's gaze trying to explain herself, the lady's glacial silence, and us not knowing whether to laugh or die of embarrassment. In the most unlikely moments, a simple "wait a moment" is enough to unleash a beach soap opera.
Silvia VS Warehouse
The warehouse assembled and organized by Silvia is sacred. We had to transport it from the small square to the beach and then from the beach to the van towards home. Every move was an agony: delicate, unstable, ready to collapse at any moment.
In Silvia's head, the horror movie was already playing: clothes full of sand, tears, and endless hours of washing once we returned. Every time someone got too close, her treasure guardian look came out. And that's when we realized that, yes, Invertika is now a child of all of us.
An eye for an eye, a flash for a flash
Final bonfire. Magical atmosphere. Everyone silently enjoying the burning of the Kalemana sign.
Everyone… except for one lady who kept filming with the flash on, disturbing half the audience.
Fabrizia, after trying gently several times, decides: enough. She points her flash in the lady's face. The lady doesn't understand, the audience suppresses laughter, and the people next to her have to explain that she needs to turn it off. Fabrizia's phrase? "You want to be superior and kind, but in the end an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth is the only thing that always works." To be inscribed on our next costume.
Wasted zip ties
Adjustable ties at Kalemana are our oxygen: they are essential for everything. This year we had few. But Giada decided to sacrifice three of them for some "closing tests" at the warehouse. Result? Useless tests, lost ties. Half the team laughed, the other half cried.
Alessia and the Veronese
Still the warehouse. Alessia, the only Neapolitan in the office, held it in precarious balance while the others argued animatedly about how to arrange it. A small detail to keep in mind: the warehouse was twice her size. At some point she exploded: "Can't you talk about it LATER?! I may be Neapolitan, but you Veronese are really strange!"
A tragicomic moment that perfectly describes our creative logistics. And the warehouse? Miraculously, it still survives (to Silvia's delight!).
Night setup
After the shop in the square comes the part that no one sees: the night setup. Too many people, too little space. The Fabbrizie forced to move between trunks and vans like improvised ninjas. Far from Tetris: it looked like a surreal ballet of headlights, bumps, and laughter. Tiredness + adrenaline = memories that last forever.
MORAL:
Invertika at Kalemana is this: a mix of energy, community, and unforeseen events transformed into stories to laugh at and remember.
Every year we return home more united, stronger, and with the certainty that these experiences are part of our identity.
